ISoA Artist Caroline Lovett at The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition!

Posted on by Paul Regan

We couldn’t be more proud of our Studio Friday artist Caroline Lovett whose painting; ’It’s the phone or me’ is currently hanging in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Her work was selected from 20,000 entries by none other that Grayson Perry, who is curating this years show. Grayson said that he was looking for work that was about ‘today’, which was a perfect match for Caroline, whose practice looks at our use of smart phones and social media.

This year is a very special year at the RA as it is celebrating 250 continuous years of holding a Summer Exhibition as well as coinciding with the fantastic refurbishment that seeing the gallery grow into the space that was the Museum of Mankind.

Being selected for the RA Summer Show not only means that you get to have your work exhibited in the prestigious gallery, but it also allows artists to take part in a number of very exciting events and access to areas that are usually out of bounds. We hope that Caroline will have the time of her life and that this year will be the first of many showing at the RA
