We raised £600 for The Alzheimer’s Society

On Sunday 3rd July more than twenty Insight School of Art artists produced nearly 100 painted sketches at the East Barnet festival to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. We had a really fun time and raised £358 on the day and another £206 through sales and donations in classes during the following week.

The winning team consisted of teachers Di Roberts, Rob Verrill and myself who raised £130 from the sale of 19 paintings, followed closely by Gavin Waxhursh, Julia Gamble and Maria Cliniotis from the Wednesday Life Drawing class who raised £87 from the sale of 13 paintings.

We did plan to give a prize for the winning team, but as it was us we have decided to donate the prize fund to make the final total raised reach £600.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to paint. It was a lovely day and a huge fund-raising success. We have already talked about how to make it even better next year.

Thank you to Ellard Roberts for manning the stall and congratulations to Feza and Helen who I think were our top sellers.

Thank you also to all of you who came to buy a painting and to everyone who donated money at the school during the following week. You were all very generous.
