Show me the Monet

Last night I watched the second programme of the ten part series on BBC2: Show Me The Monet’. It’s well worth a watch tonight at 5.15pm though I wonder how many people will still be watching when they reach episode 10. The general format of the show is that artists present a piece of their art to three judges who decide whether or not it should be exhibited at the Royal College of Art. The most interesting thing to me was their three criteria for judging the work: (Apologies if I have remembered incorrectly) Technical skill, originality and achieving an immediate emotional response from the viewer. Quite a good way to judge our own work too I think.
