Insight School of Art Exhibition 2012
We are delighted to announce that this year’s Insight School of Art end of year exhibition (Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th November) is open to all students who currently attend classes. This is your chance to have your paintings seen by hundreds of visitors and possibly win a prize or make a sale or two!
There will be a number of prizes awarded including trophies for the ‘best in show’. If you, or anyone you know would like to offer a prize (and pick the winner for it) please let us know.
The exhibition, which will fill the whole downstairs space of the school for the weekend, will consist of work by our amateur and professional artists, young artists from our children’s classes and work by teachers at the school.
Below is some general information. Please pick up an application form in class.
General information:
Adult students and children may enter up to two works for consideration by the selection committee. MaSS and Level 4 artists will be having a separate selection process.
Works will be selected by artist Michael Kirkbride NEAC and BBC art critic Estelle Lovatt.
A hanging fee of £10 will be charged for each painting exhibited to cover the cost of running the exhibition. There will be no hanging fee payable for work by artists 18 years old and under or for submitted work that is not selected. Also, no commission will be taken on sales.
Paintings by children not exhibited in the exhibition area will be exhibited on the stairs.
Please attach an envelope to the back of each of your paintings with an application form and cheque enclosed (£10 payable to Insight School of Art Ltd). Envelopes will only be opened if the work is selected. The selection panel will not have access to the artists name or any other information on the form.
All works on board or paper must be professionally framed with hanging fixtures on the back. Works on canvas may be submitted unframed.
You are responsible for the insurance of your own work. Insight School of Art will not accept liability for the loss or damage of your work.

Friday 2nd – Thursday 15th: Hand in work to your teacher at Insight School of Art
Friday 16th: Work selected for exhibition
Sunday 18th: Selected work listed online
Monday 19th – Friday 23rd: Collection of unselected work from your teacher
Saturday 24th: Exhibition open 12-8
Sunday 25th: Exhibition open 12-5
Monday 26th – Thursday 29th: Collection of unsold work
