Hi to all my students,

It all feels so strange at the moment but I hope you’re all well and keeping positive.  Thanks for all the lovely work being sent in, I really enjoy looking through it and giving feedback.

I’ve recently produced some abstract landscapes inspired by my local walks in Bushey (only one walk a day!) and imagining the Southern English coastline at this time of year.  I try to create a personel interpretation of the landscape so I’ll produce a number of plein-air sketches before I begin my paintings.  I’m really inspired by Turner and contemporary artists such as Fred Cuming for his beautiful colour palette and Louise Balaam for her expressive brush marks.
