Capturing the Essence of a Place

    Michael Kirkbride NEAC will be teaching participants how to collect information about a place in a sketchbook, through drawing and painting at a number of locations in London, firstly in the city and then in the landscape. Following three days of collecting information, and a morning at the National Gallery where Mick will highlight a selection of artworks to discuss, students will spend two days at the Insight studio in Whetstone, where they will be helped to produce an artwork in response to the places visited.

    Students will need a hardback A3 sketchbook and some drawing and painting equipment suitable for working outside and carrying between each locations. All materials will be provided for day 4 and 5.

  • Adults (16+), however, children 13+ may attend when accompanied by a participating adult.
