People and Portraits with Matt Davies

Painter of huge portraits and qualified teacher Matt Davies will be running a three day summer school for children, looking at how different artists have painted portraits and figures through the 20th and 21st centuries. Working from a number of different historical starting points; from Expressionist oil painting, to the Street Art of Bansky and Pure Evil, Matt and his team of skilled helpers will ensure that all students, no matter what their ability, become better painters.

Matt is a successful portrait painter who paints well known people from the world of music and sport.

Throughout the three days, students will use oils, acrylics and watercolour, and will work both directly from a sitter and from photographs of celebrities.

All material included. Just bring lunch and a drink.

Matt will have the support of two additional members of staff.
